Dr. Kia Shahtaheri grew up in Vancouver where he attended the University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology. After spending some time in research, he decided to return to UBC and graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry.
As a young child, Dr. Kia always enjoyed the arts and spent his time painting or playing the guitar. As he grew older, he found himself interested in the sciences, particularly chemistry and biology. As a general dentist, Dr. Kia would like to provide the highest standard of care to his patients combining his passion for art and science. His goal is to help patients attain healthy and beautiful smiles for life.
Dr. Kia is involved with community outreach programs including serving the Vancouver downtown eastside and providing free care to the underprivileged. He has also volunteered in Treasure Beach, Jamaica on a dental mission where they helped hundreds of patients by providing free dental services to the community.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kia enjoys traveling to taste the culinary delights each culture has to offer. He is an avid home cook where he attempts to recreate the different flavors and tastes he has encountered on his travels. He also enjoys staying active by playing tennis, bike riding, fishing, and playing basketball.
